Singer-Songwriter | Session Vocalist
Sadie Pickering is a Cheshire-based singer-songwriter and actress.
Sadie played Shelby in the UK tour of Steel Magnolias (“Her performance is of touching poignancy” – What’s On Stage) and has shared a stage with Isla Blair, Cherie Lunghi and Denise Welch. Prior to this, Sadie was an audience favourite as Flick Mellor in the BAFTA-winning TV series Waterloo Road and has worked consistently since the age of 12 on shows such as Children’s Ward, At Home with the Braithwaites, Material Girl, Casualty and Popatron.
Further to being a well-established actress, Sadie writes and performs her own music, having played gigs in New York City and Los Angeles, as well as London’s iconic Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club, Pigalle Club, Met Bar and Primrose Hill Fair. In 2020, she focused on recording her original material, a series of songs written during her years as an actress living in London.
Sadie’s songs combine ethereal folk with wry humour, soothing undertones and bittersweet lyrics, and her music has been enjoyed by Lynne Franks (“Sadie charms and entrances all who have the pleasure of seeing her perform”) and Sir Bob Geldof (“Sadie couldn’t be more of a hippie flower child if she lived in a commune in Woodstock – soulful voice and intricate guitar-picking”).
“With Sadie, you get a lovely, natural voice – but you also get someone who’s fun to work with. If I ever need a female vocalist again, she’ll be first on the list.”
